Arty Boys

arty_boys.jpgMy friend Cathy has asked me to do some work for her magazine Arty, the Boys issue. This is from a series called L.MACHISMO which is also the basis for a show I'm curating at Transition next summer. I've chosen a few people so far to be in the show but haven't told them as yet as we don't want them blowing their wad too early.

You can see I've turned into one of those sad people who make art by cutting up magazines and scanning the pages. Like Kurt Schwitters. He had a very early prototype scanner and a beta of Photoshop 0.2.

You can also read about the art theft at Transition on their site. Someone asked me the other day if I knew Stella Vine. How cool is that? (answer: not very.)

If hanging a man in effigy would produce the same salutary impression of terror upon the minds of the people, it would be folly or cruelty ever to hang a man in person.

As the brain changes are continuous, so do all these consciousnesses melt into each other like dissolving views. Properly they are but one protracted consciousness, one unbroken stream.

Men are deceived if they think themselves free, an opinion which consists only in this, that they are conscious of their actions and ignorant of the causes by which they are determined.

They that deny a God destroy man's nobility; for certainly man is of kin to the beasts by his body; and, if he be not of kin to God by his spirit, he is a base and ignoble creature.
